Head coach Ben Johnson told the “Up & Adams” Show on Aug. 21 that he plans to have the Bears’ starters in action on Friday night for a final tune-up in Kansas City.
“Yep. We’ll go ahead and we’ll play. We’ll see how long it is, we’re gonna get through a couple days here of practice, and we’ll determine for how long,” Johnson said.
Williams made his 2025 preseason debut in the Bears’ Week 2 exhibition against the Buffalo Bills after sitting out the preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins. He excelled against the Bills, finishing 6-of-10 on pass attempts for 107 yards and a touchdown.

The Bears will kick off their preseason finale against the Chiefs in Kansas City at 8:20 p.m. ET/7:20 p.m. CT on Friday. The game will be available to stream nationwide on NFL+.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has also confirmed that Kansas City will play its starters in Friday night’s game.
Chicago begins its regular season in the first “Monday Night Football” game of the year, taking on the Minnesota Vikings in a divisional clash at home on Sept. 8.
