INDIANA SPORTS BETTING: BEST INDIANA SPORTSBOOKS IN [MONTH] [YEAR]
Indiana’s sports betting market posted another strong month in May with sportsbooks reporting a 12.3% revenue increase on the total reported during the same time in 2024. The state’s sports betting legislation faced opposition on several fronts, including mobile sports wagering. It wasn’t until 2019 that the Indiana Legislature approved the bill, clearing the way for mobile and in-person wagered. The Indiana Pacers are the largest underdogs ever to win the NBA Finals if they are victorious against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Minnesota and Oklahoma remain two of 11 states that haven’t approved any form of legal sports betting. Indiana’s $553.6 million handle represented a 10.5% growth year-over-year, compared to March 2024, but the $35.8 million in adjusted gaming revenue (AGR) was 10.2% lower than the previous year’s total. The Hoosiers rebounded to $55.55 million in January, marking the fourth straight month of a greater than $500 million handle.
The Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) ruling to overturn PASPA — the federal ban on single-game wagering — was the last domino to fall for Indiana to legalize sports wagering. The state’s sports betting legislation faced opposition on several fronts, including mobile sports wagering. It wasn’t until 2019 that the Indiana Legislature approved the bill, clearing the way for mobile and in-person wagering.
Speaking on the legislation, Gov. Eric Holcomb said: “By modernizing our laws, this legislation will spur positive economic growth for our state and for an industry that employs over 11,000 Hoosiers.”

The state will leverage tax revenue from sports betting to help fund various state water projects. Colorado’s sports betting handle reaches over $500 million in March, thanks to basketball betting. The NFL’s return vaults Colorado’s handle in September, as football accounted for more than 30% of the state’s total wagers. The public is “all over” the underdog Colorado Buffaloes entering their primetime matchup against Nebraska this weekend. The bill potentially generating $12 million yearly, funding urgent water infrastructure needs, is advancing in the state legislature. Colorado now is home to 14 online sports betting sites, including bet365, SI Sportsbook, BetSafe, ClutchBet, and SuperBook Sports, which has pulled out of eight states, including Colorado, including New Jersey and New York. The sport’s betting revenue fell to $39.3M in October, making a 16.2% drop year-over-year from the same month in 2023.
