“Which lifestyle do you envy the most?”

New Jersey Real Estate Network polled 3,012 respondents to find the answer, coming up with a list of 170 cities across the nation where the grass may very well be greener on the other side.

Included were four Connecticut cities, top amongst them being New Canaan at 84th, according to New Jersey Real Estate Network. Calling it “quintessential Connecticut,” the town’s “ivy-covered charm, historic homes, and train tracks that lead straight to Manhattan” paired with its “art galleries, private schools, and a picture-perfect main street,” let New Canaan define “what an enviable suburb looks like.”

While New Canaan was the only Connecticut city to crack the top 100, Westport was not to far behind at 103rd, according to the poll. Its beach rights, private schools, and luxurious and charming downtown make it where Manhattan’s creative class go to breathe, according to New Jersey Real Estate Network.

Next up for Connecticut is Ridgefield at 106th, according to the poll. As New Jersey Real Estate Network puts it, “Ridgefield is New England charm at its most curated – clapboard homes, antique shops, and a Main Street that seems lifted from a film set. But behind the postcard look is a dynamic, artsy community with various schools, a professional crowd, and just enough city spillover to keep things fresh.”

Last up for Connecticut is Darien, landing at 150th, according to New Jersey Real Estate Network, thanks to being “coastal, commuter-friendly, and wrapped in quiet affluence.”

Curious what city topped the list? Beverly Hills, California, according to New Jersey Real Estate Network: “Beverly Hills is more than a zip code – it’s a status symbol. Synonymous with luxury, the neighborhood offers palm-lined streets, gated mansions, and boutiques where price tags are optional.
