Ukraine warns against drop in aid due to Israel-Iran
Ukraine said on June 14 it hoped the military escalation between Israel and Iran would not lead to a drop in aid to Kyiv, at a time when European support is stalling without US engagement.
Israel unleashed large-scale attacks on Iran on June 13, targeting nuclear and military facilities, high-ranking generals and atomic scientists. Iran, in turn, launched barrages of drones and missiles at Israel.
The escalation sparked international calls for restraint as fears of broader conflict grow. In Kyiv it also sparked anxiety about future supplies of military aid, fearing Washington might relocate more resources to beef up the defence of its close ally Israel.

Rory McIlroy on snubbing media: ‘I’ve earned the right’
Rory McIlroy, who has come under fire for avoiding media after six consecutive major championship rounds, ended that silent run on June 14 at the US Open where he said he felt he earned the right to do as he pleases.
PGA Tour players are not obligated to speak to the media after their rounds but for someone like world number two McIlroy, who has been the de facto spokesman of the US-based circuit in recent years, it has come to be expected.
Following a four-over 74 that left well out of contention at Oakmont Country Club, McIlroy spoke to reporters and was asked if his drop in form since winning the Masters was why he decided to avoid the media outside of pre-tournament availabilities.

Live updates: Iran and Israel trade strikes as conflict continues
Israel and Iran launch more missiles at each other. At least 78 people have been killed in the fighting. Israel says it will continue to strike at Iran’s nuclear facilities. Iran says Israel is trying to destroy its nuclear facilities in Caspian Sea.
• More destruction: Several people were killed in Israel’s north following Iranian strikes on Saturday, with one official describing “extensive destruction.” This adds to the three people previously killed in Israel and at least 78 killed in Iran, as reported by authorities in each country.
• Energy targets: Iran said Israeli strikes targeted South Pars natural gas field – the largest in the world – and Shahran oil depot. Videos from Tehran show a large fire burning and smoke billowing in the distance.
• More to come: Netanyahu warned in a video address Saturday that Israel will “strike every target” of Iran’s regime. Iran has threatened to intensify its attacks if Israel continues hostilities.
• Failed talks: The next round of US-Iran nuclear negotiations, due to take place in Oman this weekend, has been canceled, Oman’s foreign minister has said. His Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, earlier said such talks were “unjustifiable” while Israel’s attacks continued.
Israel and Iran trade strikes in new wave of attacks targetting oil facilities
Israel and Iran launch new attacks on each other. At least 80 people have been killed in the latest round of fighting. Israel says it will launch more attacks on Iran in the coming days. Iran says the attacks are in retaliation for recent U.S. strikes on its nuclear facilities. The US says the strikes are in response to Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
Iran’s latest strikes on Israel included an attack on the Haifa Oil Refineries, Israel’s largest oil processing facility. Iranian missiles reached the northern coastal city of Haifa and the neighbouring town of Tamra, killing at least three people.
Israeli forces also attacked an administrative building of the Iranian Ministry of Defence in northern Tehran, Press TV reported.

Meanwhile, US-Iran nuclear talks were cancelled due to be escalation, with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi saying the discussions could not take place while Iran was being subjected to Israel’s “barbarous” attacks.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that Israel would launch stronger attacks on Iran in the upcoming days after Iran, in its retaliation, within 24 hours after Israel hit nuclear facilities and assasinated top officials.
At least 80 people – including 20 children – have been killed in Iran since Thursday.
B’Tselem, a leading Israeli human rights organisation, said on Saturday that instead of exhausting all possibilities for a diplomatic resolution, Israel’s government had chosen to start a war that puts the entire region in danger.
Israel and Iran strike at each other in new wave of attacks
Israel and Iran have been locked in a war of words over disputed territory in the West Bank and Gaza. The conflict has been raging since the fall of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979. Israel has been trying to win back control of the region from Iran.
Tehran called off nuclear talks that Washington had said were the only way to halt Israel’s bombing, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attacks were nothing compared with what Iran would see in the coming days.
Israel’s military said more missiles were launched from Iran towards Israel overnight, and that it was attacking military targets in Tehran.
Early Sunday morning, air raid sirens blared across Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Several missiles were seen streaking through the sky over Tel Aviv, while interceptor rockets were launched from the ground. Explosions echoed in both cities.
Israel’s ambulance service said three women were killed and 10 other people injured in an earlier missile strike near a house in northern Israel. Emergency responders with flashlights were seen searching the rubble of the partially collapsed home in Tamra, a predominantly Palestinian city. Two people suffered minor injuries from shrapnel elsewhere in the north, the ambulance service said.
Israel-Iran conflict Live updates: Iran launches new missile barrage, Israel responds with renewed strikes
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened his security cabinet late Saturday as fresh missile exchanges between Israel and Iran escalated fears of a broader regional conflict. The meeting came hours after Israel struck Iran’s South Pars gas field – one of the world’s largest – expanding its surprise offensive.
Iran responded with a barrage of missiles and drones targeting Israeli cities. According to Iranian state media, the retaliation was aimed at military targets. The Israeli military confirmed ongoing strikes in Tehran and said its forces were working to intercept incoming missiles from Iran.
Following the escalation, Tehran withdrew from nuclear talks that the US had earlier described as the only diplomatic path to de-escalation. In a sharp message, Netanyahu declared that Iran had not yet seen the full scale of Israel’s response.
Israel’s national ambulance service reported that 14 people were injured in northern Israel in the latest wave of Iranian strikes, with one person in critical condition. Local media also reported one fatality in the region.
