Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V. Anitha has criticised YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for “turning condolence visits into political shows of strength.”

“We have seen pilgrimages, victory rallies, and condolence yatras. Now, we are witnessing jail yatras,” Ms. Anitha said while addressing the media at the Secretariat on Thursday.

“While Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is touring Singapore to attract industries, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy is visiting prison inmates and those involved in criminal acts,” she said. adding, “The YSRCP leader has never condemned vulgar remarks made against women, including those against Nara Bhuvaneswari and other women related to our party leaders.”

Ms. Anitha questioned Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to console his party leader N. Prasanna Kumar Reddy. It appeared more like a political stunt than genuine sympathy, she observed.

“Law will take its own course against those involved in attacking Mr. Prasanna Kumar Reddy’s house,” the Home Minister said, and lashed out at Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy for defending the derogatory remarks allegedly made by Mr. Prasanna Kumar Reddy against a woman MLA.

She accused Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party of manipulating public perception through selective video editing. “Any threat posed to law and order, even under the guise of condolence visits, will be firmly dealt with,” she warned.
