Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat is cutting the ribbon on his so-called Streamer University at the University of Akron.

Cenat confirmed the location during his first livestream while welcoming “students.” According to Cenat, Streamer University will allow content creators to gather at a college campus and have the opportunity to showcase their personalities and nascent brands, as well as meet other internet hopefuls.

In a livestream earlier this month, Cenat said the “university” was open for everyone to apply, and he would review online applications on his YouTube channel.

On May 18, he took to social media to reveal the full Class of 2025, which included some 120 content creators either eager to boost their own brands or hopeful for a guest spot on Cenat’s closely watched videos.

Cenat, 23, is a Twitch and YouTube star with a massive online following. He was among Rolling Stone’s 20 most influential creators in 2023 and is known for pulling off viral pranks and inviting big-name guests onto his standup comedy-laced livestreams.

Cenat boasts 17.3 million Twitch followers, making him the most-subscribed-to user on the platform. With 12.7 million subscribers on YouTube and 14.4 million followers on Instagram, he has rapidly become a defining force on the internet.

A New York City native, Cenat attended SUNY Morrisville to study business administration before dropping out, cutting his own college experience short to pursue content creation.

Now, with streamer university, Cenat is re-opening that chapter, albeit unconventionally. With videos on his YouTube titled “Streamer University First Day Orientation!” and “Meeting With Every Student in Streamer University,” the project has a dual purpose – both to buoy Cenat’s own streaming numbers and to instruct a younger generation (though not much younger) on how to become your own brand.

Chat, have you ever wanted to go to a college but instead of learning about math, science, or literature, you’re learning about internet beef and cooking? Okay, the culinary arts are an important life skill, but maybe internet beef isn’t the type of protein we should be cooking up in masses. Popular Twitch streamer (the third most followed person on the platform) Kai Cenat has enlisted the help of a few friends to open Streamer University, a weekend-long online event taking place on Twitch. It’s become a lead-up to the main event on Monday, as Cenat will be live-streaming the American Music Awards from his Twitch, becoming the first streamer to legally broadcast the show.

What’s the streamer university about?

Cenat’s goal is simple: to create a free bootcamp where up-and-coming streamers could learn about content creation. While the courses hosted by other internet personalities are all available to stream on Twitch, 120 participants were invited to a real university, University of Akron, as an “all inclusive trip” where they live on campus and attend classes in person. They’ll also be streaming from their own channels, showing off what they’ve learned, like getting into fights with each other. Maybe it’s actually a study group for Internet Beef 101.

Below are all the influencers announced as professors for the bootcamp, some have not announced what their specific niche is yet.

For his opening stream titled Orientation/Move In day, he accumulated over 10 million views, and it didn’t just stop there.
