Main accused Monojit Mishra, 31, a former student and now Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad’s district organising secretary, was produced in Alipore court on Friday along with two other accused. The other two accused have been identified as Zaib Ahmed, 19, and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, 20, both third-semester students of the college. The court sent all three to police custody till July 1. The incident prompted fierce responses from opposition parties, with the Left, BJP, AIDSO and AIDSO supporters clashing with the police outside the Kasba police station under whose jurisdiction the alleged crime was committed. “This is not an isolated incident.
