Konami Shows Off Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater One Last Time Before Launch Next Week
Konami has debuted the launch trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. It showcases the game one last time ahead of its long-awaited release one week from today. It arrives on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on August 28, 2025. There’s even more to look forward to after its launch, with the revised Fox Hunt multiplayer mode that will be out this fall.
It’s one last hurrah for the remake that Metal Gear Solid fans might have, prior to its announcement, hoped for, but never really believed would happen, since it seemed like Konami was letting its biggest series, like Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill, rest for years without a new entry. Sure, leaks like the NVIDIA GeForce Now list provided hope, but until we all saw it with our own eyes, it was tough to believe.
Which is what makes the fact that we’re a week away from its launch all the more exciting and unbelievable, and adds to the excitement around the fact that this launch trailer makes it seem like fans of what many believe to be the best game in the iconic Metal Gear Solid series will not be disappointed by the remake.
There’s even more to look forward to after its launch, with the revised Fox Hunt multiplayer mode that will be out this fall. It’s unfortunate that it won’t feature crossplay between devices, but we don’t live in a perfect world.
If you’ve never played the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, you officially have one week to get through it if you want to experience it ahead of the remake’s launch, and if you decide to go on that journey, you’re in for a treat, since MGS3 is arguably one of the best videogames ever made.

Metal Gear Solid Delta trailer shows off Fox Hunt multiplayer mode, Ape Escape, boss battles, and more
Konami shared a new Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater gameplay trailer during its Press Start news event on Thursday. The teaser showed a soldier character controlled from a third-person POV, blending elements found in the base game. The multiplayer experience will take “camouflage and hide and go seek to the next level” while building upon the “back and forth tension of staying hidden or searching out the enemy” The game will be released on Aug. 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
The new teaser showed a soldier character controlled from a third-person POV, blending elements found in the base game for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater while showing how the camouflage tech can be used to hide from other players.
Yu Sahara, director of the new Fox Hunt mode, detailed in the video that the multiplayer experience will take “camouflage and hide and go seek to the next level” while building upon the “back and forth tension of staying hidden or searching out the enemy” to create a fresh new take on MGS multiplayer. As he continued, Sahara mentioned 2008’s Metal Gear Online, a multiplayer game mode that was included with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and insisted that Fox Hunt and MGO are nothing alike.
“Fox Hunt is a completely original online multiplayer mode,” Sahara said in the teaser trailer. “Although it shares the same world with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the gameplay is completely different…When we say Metal Gear multiplayer, many fans will probably think of Metal Gear Online, but Fox Hunt will be its own new type of mode. We very much appreciate all the long-time fans of MGO who have always wanted to see it make a comeback, but the landscape of multiplayer games has changed a lot since MGO. It took a lot of careful consideration to think about what a new online mode should look like.
“Based on the stealth and survival elements of Metal Gear, we are taking camouflage and hide-and-go-seek to the next level. We challenged ourselves to make something unique that is more than just a shootout. We’ve used that back-and-forth tension of staying hidden or searching out the enemy to create an online experience unique to Metal Gear.”

The teaser trailer even offered a glimpse at the reworked UI for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and revamped combat mechanics during boss battles while staying true to the original essence of the critically acclaimed 2004 game.
