Three weeks after a devastating tornado hit southern Kentucky, there are still numerous folks out there who still need help getting back on their feet. Those involved in Saturday’s efforts said if you missed the event, you can still drop off donations during their normal business hours. The business is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00pm.
That’s why Dynamic Restoration LLC in Frankfort provided all you can eat pancakes in exchange for donations for tornado survivors.
“We love it. We love to try and find different ways to help. It may not be events such as this, but any way we can get in there and lend a hand, we’re willing to do,” said the business’ quality assurance manager, Carissa Ross.
“We have our headquarters manager, she has family that were directly affected and so that touched our heart as well. We know that it was a travesty down there and so we just wanted to try and help out any way we could,” added owner Nena Velasquez.
The focus of Saturday’s drive is helping those in Pulaski County.
Charlene Taylor lives in the Mount Victory area there and has helped with recovery efforts.
Taylor said its heartwarming to see an area that was impacted by a natural disaster just a few months ago step up to help others in similar situations.
“Its just amazing that you see people in need helping people in need,” Taylor said.
Doug Brennaman was one of the people to drop off donations.
He said events like this are a true testament of neighbors helping neighbors.
“The world is divided enough, but its really when things like this happen, you get to really see the character of some people that get to come together and really help, so it just kind of gives me a little bit of hope that people do still care,” Brennaman said.
