Do, who operates the small boba restaurant, shares that the fall happened while performing maintenance on the air conditioner.
“I tripped over the ledge at the top of the roof. It was like a three-story drop, around 30 feet, and I landed on my left side on the cement ground,” said Do.
As a single father of four, Do relies on the restaurant to support his family. With his recovery projected to take six to twelve months, he’s uncertain about the future of his business.
“I don’t know how I can keep [the restaurant] running. Without it, I don’t know how I can support my family,” said Do.
Despite the daunting circumstances, Do remains optimistic and grateful for the community’s support. Friends, employees, and neighbors have stepped up to keep operations afloat.
“I’m lucky to have friends and employees helping and stepping up,” Do said.
He is also grateful that the outcome wasn’t worse.
“It’s not my time yet. You can’t get rid of me that easily,” said Do.
Unfortunately, insurance from the restaurant doesn’t cover his injuries, compounding the challenges ahead. Do is now facing high medical bills on top of maintaining the restaurant.
Because of this, his friends are asking the public to head to Boba Pho U and support his business while he recovers. You can also donate here.
