CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Linn County Public Health is sending a notice of violation to Northern Dewatering.

Linn County Public Health says Northern Dewatering is responsible for over forty illegal wells at the site of a new data center.

The QTS campus extends into Fairfax. The city’s agreement with the data center said nothing about digging wells.

According to the Iowa DNR and Linn County Public Health, they both didn’t know about the wells and said they were dug without a permit.

Linn County says fines are possible. Northern Dewatering is now working with them to obtain the necessary permits.
