International Yoga Day Live Updates: Yoga Is Pause Button That World Needs Today, Says PM Modi At Vizag Event
International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the world with the theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the celebrations from Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam. The mega event was held along a 26-kilometre stretch from Ramakrishna Beach to Bhogapuram.
“Let this Yoga Day mark the beginning of Yoga for humanity 2.0, where inner peace becomes global policy,” he said at the event to mark the 11th International Yoga Day, which is being celebrated across the world with the theme of “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”.
“Yoga has now become part of the lives of crores of people around the world,” PM Modi said at the mega event, which was held along a 26-kilometre stretch from Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam to Bhogapuram.
Yoga, an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India, derives from the Sanskrit and means to join or to unite.
The International Yoga Day has been celebrated across the world since 2015, proposed by India at the UN.

International Yoga Day, celebrated every year on June 21, is being commemorated for the 11th consecutive year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading the celebrations from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Nearly 3 lakh people are participating in the mega event to be held at a 26-Km stretch from Ramakrishna Beach.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also attending the massive demonstration at Adalaj Vav stepwell near Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Earlier on Friday, the Government of Andhra Pradesh said that over 2 crore people will take part in the Yoga events today, held across the state. An attempt will be made to set Guinness World Record and distribute over 50 lakh yoga certificates.
