Everton fans make Hill Dickinson stadium request as club issue official announcement
Everton will move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium from the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign. David Moyes is set to be the first manager to take charge of Everton at the new stadium, but he may have to wait a little bit longer for his first game there. A recent club announcement confirmed two more pre-season games, away at Accrington Stanley and Blackburn Rovers respectively. With Everton confirming more friendlies this summer, fans have made one big demand before the start of the new Premier League season. Everton will receive £6m each year from Hill Dickinson to have their name on the stadium. The Friedkin Group agreed with the Liverpool-based law firm over naming rights.
After test events at the ground earlier in 2025, Everton will move into the Hill Dickinson Stadium from the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign.
Everton said an emotional goodbye to Goodison Park in May, a ground that has been their home since 1892. Next season will see a new era begin at the football club in their brand new state-of-the-art stadium.
Bramley-Moore Dock is set to be a financial game-changer for Everton, with the increased capacity meaning much higher revenue. David Moyes is set to be the first manager to take charge of Everton at the new stadium, but he may have to wait a little bit longer for his first game there.

Everton fans want Hill Dickinson Stadium friendly
Moyes was unhappy that he could not train at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with his team after the pitch had been dug up, and now it looks like the wait will go on to finally play on the pitch at the new ground.
Everton are playing in the Premier League’s Summer Series in America as well as the friendlies against Accrington and Blackburn, so playing in the new stadium is now looking less likely.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Speaking on social media platform X, Everton fans have one clear demand ahead of next season.
“Surely we need a few home games in there.” said one fan, while another added: “Leaving the European friendly until the last minute?”
This fan expects the home friendly to be announced much later, saying: “Looking forward to hearing details of a potential home friendly on our return from the US.”
“When is the third test event?” said this restless Everton fan.
Another fan added: “Decent need a few new players in by then.”
Finally, this Everton fan said: “Going to be a long couple of months.”
How much will Everton receive from the new stadium naming rights?
It was officially confirmed that Bramley-Moore Dock will be called the Hill Dickinson Stadium, after The Friedkin Group agreed with the Liverpool-based law firm over naming rights.
With the new stadium set to be a real money-spinner for the club, the Friedkins have worked their magic to get a great deal out of the naming rights.
Everton will receive £6m each year from Hill Dickinson to have their name on the stadium. While the fee is still a good one, it is significantly less than the £10m that was originally being reported when the deal was first struck.
Fans will now hope that the money they earn from the deal will go into signing quality players this summer and beyond as Moyes looks to take the club into a new era.

Liverpool are looking to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz this summer, with any deal for the German international set to smash the Reds’ current transfer record.
Having already secured the signing of Jeremie Frimpong, Liverpool are looking to continue their raid of Bayer Leverkusen by signing Wirtz. The 22-year-old has won Bundesliga player of the season two seasons in a row, and it looks like Liverpool are set to beat Bayern Munich and Manchester City to secure the German this summer.
Liverpool have already had two bids for Wirtz rejected, most recently a €130million (£109m) offer, with Leverkusen holding out for €150m (£125m). The versatile attacking midfielder scored 16 goals and grabbed 14 assists for Leverkusen this season.

Liverpool’s 2025/26 season simulated with Florian Wirtz
To complete this simulation, we used Football Manager 2024 to sign Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, with the Reds paying the German side’s £125million asking price, making him the most expensive signing in Premier League history. We then simulated the 2025 summer transfer window and the 2025/26 season to see what could happen.
Wirtz was thrown straight into the Liverpool starting XI, with the German making most of his appearances through the middle, with Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo sharing the left wing spot. In his first season at the club, Wirtz was incredible, and he had the stats to prove it.

Wirtz made 54 appearances for the Reds, scoring 17 goals and grabbing 12 assists across all competitions. His combined 29 goal contributions were the most at the club, with Mohamed Salah (28) and Szoboszlai (27) just behind, as the goals were much more spread out among the squad than the previous campaign.
At the end of the 2025/26 season, Football Manager 2024 put together an overall best Liverpool XI, based on performances, statistics, and other metrics. This is what it looked like:

Full Liverpool best XI: (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Wirtz, Szoboszlai; Diaz.
Wirtz made Liverpool’s best XI in the simulation, with Szoboszlai and Salah joining him as the attacking trio behind Luis Diaz at striker. Conor Bradley was the first-choice right back throughout the season, with Frimpong being used as a back-up at both right back and right wing.
With Wirtz in the squad, Liverpool were even better in Slot’s second season than in the first, with the Reds winning both the Premier League and the Champions League in the simulation.

27 wins, six draws and five defeats saw Liverpool end the season with 87 points, three more than their tally in the 2024/25 campaign, and 11 more than second-place Manchester City in the simulation. Wirtz won the Premier League player of the season award in his first year at the club, but he was even more influential in the Champions League, with the 22-year-old scoring twice in the final as the Reds beat Real Madrid 3-1 to lift their seventh Champions League trophy.

Slot’s side missed the chance to win the treble following a 2-1 FA Cup final loss against Man City, while their Carabao Cup run concluded in the fourth round after a shock 3-2 defeat to Sunderland.
Overall, FM24 predicts that Wirtz could be an incredible signing for Liverpool, with the German playing a major part in a historic double for the Reds.

The 2025/26 season has officially begun!
At the Premier League’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) the change from 2024/25 to the 2025/26 campaign has been formalised.
Following their respective promotions from the EFL Championship, Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland can now officially state that they are part of the Premier League.
What has happened?
The three clubs who were relegated – Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton – have transferred back the share certificates that gave them Premier League status, and the Premier League Board has confirmed the cancellation of these shares.
A new share certificate for each of the promoted clubs has then been signed by the Premier League directors and company secretary. As required under company law, the three clubs have been entered into the share register.
As a result, the confirmation of the three promoted clubs as members of the Premier League has taken place, with the League formally welcoming them by awarding them their framed share certificates.
