McLEOD HEALTH DILLON

Bridget Long, RN, with McLeod Health Dillon was recently honored with the DAISY award. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

Amy Leviner nominated Bridget for the award. In her nomination, she wrote, “My mom was admitted in early February. When I was contacted, I was basically told that my mom may not survive the hospital stay. I left work and went to McLeod Health Dillon where I was met with Bridget in ICU. She knew how dire my mom’s situation was and she let me cry and took the time to listen to me as a human and not as her being a nurse. I was facing my mom being put on comfort care. I called a lot and Bridget NEVER made me feel like I was a bother. This nurse went above and beyond her duty in making sure I knew what was going on step by step and always took time to answer my questions. The medical field needs more Bridget’s in their profession.”
