Juan Sabines Guerrero took to X this week to say that the travel advisory should be considered for Mexican tourists coming to Orlando, in light of recent deportations from ICE.

In the post he shared to X, Guerrero told the story of two Mexican tourists, one with a valid tourist visa and the other who is married to a U.S citizen, who were detained in Orlando and taken to Alligator Alcatraz.

Spectrum News has reached out to Orange County Corrections Department officials for more information about their arrests; they have not yet gotten back.

This also comes as Sabines has been working alongside former state senator Linda Stewart to help local Hispanic businesses that are struggling to stay afloat due to fears of deportation from ICE.

He says he has noticed a growing sense of fear among restaurant workers and even customers in Orlando and statewide, which he fears will affect the Orlando economy.

Stewart said to have visited more than 37 restaurants in Orlando that are owned by Latinos to determine the impacts.

Those Hispanic businesses that Stewart visited were equipped with 15 different resources highlighting organizations that can help them adjust their status and answer any questions they may have.
