We all like to think we’re polite travelers, but a new list reveals that Minnesotans might have a few guilty habits hiding in their carry-ons. From seat-saving sneaks to suitcase hogs, these naughty travel behaviors are turning heads (and not in a good way).

We’ve all heard of that whole ‘Minnesota Nice’ thing, right? Well, apparently it doesn’t translate into when we’re traveling. Because a new survey has just revealed the naughtiest travel habits Minnesotans exhibit when we’re flying the friendly skies for work or leisure.

The crew over at Solitaire Bliss set out to find out just which things we do while traveling that we’d rather not admit to doing. The number-crunchers surveyed residents in every state and asked about the common habits they are guilty of themselves, what habits they have observed, their overall opinions on airline etiquette, and more.

And when they tallied everything up, Minnesota *is* one of the naughtier states in the survey. But it’s a good news/bad news situation. While the Land of 10,000 Lakes did make the Top 20 States With Naughtiest Travel Habits list, we ranked as the 14th state out of 20 on the list. So while we do have some naughty habits, we’re apparently not all that naughty, or we would have ranked higher on the list.

Overall, Mississippi was rated as the state with the naughtiest travel habits, while Oklahoma came in as the state with the least naughty travel habits. So just which behaviors came in on top of the naughty list?

Perhaps the reason that Minnesotans exhibit these bad travel behaviors is that fact that we like to tip back a lovely adult beverage… or two… or three… or four. In fact, Minnesotans really like to enjoy a glass of vino. Keep scrolling to see just how much wine we bought in Minnesota last year!
