Sheridan HS Football: One week of practice down, and 2 to go for the Sheridan High School Football team. Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies ended up winning 3 of 4 games at home vs. Arizona this past weekend. Denver Broncos Pre-Season Football: The Denver Broncos won their lone pre-season home game back on Saturday against Arizona, 27-7. Colorado Rocks baseball: The Rocks begin a 4-game home series today vs. the LA Dodgers. Sheridan/Johnson County HS Fall Sports Start Practice: All other fall sports that have not started practice will do so today. All classes of volleyball will also get going today as well as cross country and girls swimming.Competitions in those sports can begin as early as Thursday, August 28th.

Sheridan HS Football: One week of practice down, and 2 to go for the Sheridan High School Football team.

The Bronc players started to shake off some of the rust early in the week and then things picked up when they were allowed to put on the pads for the first time on Thursday.

Head Coach Jeff Mowry says nothing fancy happened last week in terms of developing plays and strategy, instead players were working on getting into football shape and developing some endurance.

The first game is one week from Friday at Cheyenne South.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Fall Sports Start Practice: All other fall sports that have not started practice will do so today.

This includes football at Big Horn, Tongue River, Buffalo and Kaycee.

All classes of volleyball will also get going today as well as cross country and girls swimming.

Competitions in those sports can begin as early as Thursday, August 28th.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Golf: Competition started late last week for the Sheridan County and Johnson County teams.

At the Powell Invitational, Addie Bettinger of Buffalo and Camry Wagner of Sheridan placed 1st and 2nd individually in the girls competition.

At the Upton Invitational, Easton Lewis and Savannah Tremain of Tongue River finished 1st in the boys and girls competitions respectively.

Talitha Winfrey of TR finished 3rd on the girls side.

Sheridan and Buffalo are scheduled to be back on the course today and tomorrow.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs will be at Casper, while the Bison and Lady Bison play at Lander.

Tongue River and Big Horn are not scheduled to play again until Friday at Sundance.

Sheridan HS Tennis: Dual matches get started this week for Sheridan.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs are scheduled to host Laramie tomorrow at 10am in non-conference action, and then on Friday Natrona and Kelly Walsh will be in town to start North Conference play.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies ended up winning 3 of 4 games at home vs. Arizona this past weekend.

Thursday was the lone loss of the series 8-2.

On Friday, the Rocks won 4-3.

Hunter Goodman got the scoring started with a solo home run.

On Saturday, the Rockies scored 6 in the 8th inning to win 10-7.

Warming Bernabel had a solo shot earlier in that game, and Tyler Freeman capped off the scoring with a 2-run blast of his own.

Colorado ran their win streak to 3 yesterday, winning 6-5.

The Rocks begin a 4-game home series today vs. the LA Dodgers.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.

Denver Broncos Pre-Season Football: The Denver Broncos won their lone pre-season home game back on Saturday vs. Arizona, 27-7.

Backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham was 16 of 23 passing for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns, both of them to Troy Franklin.

Sam Ehlinger was 14 of 16 himself for 162 yards.

RJ Harvey ran for 1 touchdown and Will Lutz booted 2 field goals.

The Broncos defense not only held the opposition to 36 yards rushing and 99 yards passing, but the Cardinals were only 2 of 13 on 3rd down conversions.

The only thing of concern was penalties as Denver got hit 11 times for 75 yards.

The Broncos will conclude the pre-season this Saturday at New Orleans.
