Multiple sports the reason for Vukovich’s rise
Reno Aces utility player AJ Vukovich blends his background in multiple sports. He played football, basketball, and baseball growing up. In his spare time he likes to shoot hoops and pool, go to Lake Tahoe, and play video games. He spent a lot of time with his dad on the tee growing up, and getting his swing right.

On Opening Day Vukovich made two catches outstanding plays defensively. His athletic background helped him make the plays.
“Treat it like I’m a safety and track the ball down or like I’m grabbing a rebound,” Vukovich explained.
Vukovich played football, basketball, and baseball growing up. In high school he tossed the pigskin aside. With colleges looking at him for baseball, basketball took a back seat, but not the skills.
“It was good for me to get space away from both (basketball and baseball) and use different muscles and techniques from the other sports and combine them all into being an athlete that I am today,” Vukovich said.
Vukovich brings some thump to the Aces lineup, too.
He spent a lot of time with his dad on the tee growing up, and getting his swing right.
“It’s really just part of my routine and it really makes me feel confident,” Vukovich said of the work he put in with his dad over the years. “I’m putting the work in and using those things to exaggerate in the cage to feel differences in the game.”
In his spare time Vukovich likes to shoot hoops and pool, go to Lake Tahoe, and play video games.
