Candidates in Vicksburg’s June 3 municipal election have filed their final round of campaign finance reports, which were due to the city clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The reports are the second round filed by incumbents and the first for municipal challengers. Mayoral candidate Willis Thompson did not turn in a campaign finance report by Tuesday’s deadline. The penalty for missing a deadline in Mississippi is typically a daily monetary fine.

In the race for mayor, incumbent George Flaggs Jr. reported a total of $79,773 in itemized contributions and $5,000 non-itemized contributions for a total $84,773. He reported itemized disbursements of $40,755 and $4,000 in non-itemized disbursements for a total of $44,755, leaving him with a final campaign balance of $40,018.
