Lorianne Crook will receive the 2022 Jeannie Seely Standing Ovation Award from the Donelson Hermitage Chamber of Commerce Women in Business during this year’s Women in Business Influencing Women Awards Gala. The event will be held at the Sonesta Nashville Airport on April 28.

The award was originally named for and presented in 2019 to Grand Ole Opry star Jeannie Seely, who generously shares her time advocating for her community and various organizations.

Each year, the award recognizes a woman who has created influence and significance in the entertainment industry and has shown the advocacy of other women in her field by mentoring and supporting them in their professional success. Previous winners include Devon O’Day and Kellie Pickler.

Crook is recognized for being part of the elite list of the nation’s Most Influential Women in Radio. As a creator, producer, writer and host of an array of television and radio productions, she has received numerous career awards from the CMA, SESAC, Gospel Music Association and the New York & Television Festival.

She was inducted into the Country Radio Broadcasters Hall of Fame and received the Living Legend Award at the Grand Ole Opry in 2017, and presently holds the title of Vice President of Jim Owens Entertainment along with serving as the Executive Producer and host of the nationally syndicated Crook & Chase productions distributed in partnership with Premiere/iHeart Media.

Nashville, TN – Powerhouse newcomer Joanna Yaeger just released a captivating rendition of the classic Christmas carol “O Holy Night” accompanied by the Donelson Christian Academy high school choir. The song, recorded at Sound Emporium, showcases Yaeger’s vocal prowess in this unique and exquisite arrangement.

The music video, shot at Andrew Price United Methodist Church in Donelson, TN, is available now online and airing on GAC, Heartland and The Country Network. The quaint, turn of the century chapel and beautiful candle lighting sets the mood back to the era of 1847 when the classic carol was written.

“This has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs to sing. To me, this song symbolizes the essence of hope and I believe the world can benefit from that now more than ever,” exclaims Yaegar. “I was a choir student all the way through high school so adding the DCA choir just brought the experience to a whole new level and I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished together with our version of “O Holy Night.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music royalty, including Lorrie Morgan, Jeannie Seely, Jan Howard, Leona Williams, Riders in the Sky and more will join together to honor Jean Shepard during an all-star performance Nov. 20 at The Nashville Palace from 7:00 – 11:00pm. The artist lineup will pay tribute to Shepard, who passed away on September 23, by showcasing some of her greatest hits.

Jean Shepard made her first appearance in country music in 1953 with the duet “A Dear John Letter.” She followed that success with her hit songs “A Satisfied Mind” and “Take Possession.” In 1956, she was invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Sixty years later, she was still touring and gracing the Grand Ole Opry stage to spread the power of country music. In the couple of years before her passing, Jean was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and released her autobiography Down Through the Years.

“She’s one of those people who opened doors,” Opry announcer and WSM DJ Eddie Stubbs said in late 2015. “There were some she had to push open and some others she had to kick her way through.”

Jeannie Seely has blazed a trail for others to follow throughout her musical career. From her first singing appearances on a local Pennsylvania radio station at the young age of eleven to her over fifty years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry, Jeannie has consistently paved the way for female artists. She was the first female to host a Grand Ole Opry half-hour segment, as well as the first to wear a mini-skirt on the Opry stage. Nicknamed “Miss County Soul”, Jeannie possesses a beautiful voice and infamous sense of humor.

“Jeannie embodies everything it means to be a powerful woman in the music industry. She has remained classy -poised-and relevant to decades and continues to inspire the generation of females to this industry including myself ,” says Carley Pearce. Her talent and class have allowed Jeannie to sustain her career over six decades. A Grammy award winning artist, Jeannie continues to write and record. Her latest album, which includes collaborations with Bill Anderson, Vince Gill, Lorrie Morgan, Willie Nelson and more, is tentatively set to release this fall. She regularly hosts and performs on the Grand Ole Opry and is an on air personality and host on Sirius XM’s “Willie’s Roadhouse”.

Not only is Jeannie an admired artist, she is also a community advocate. She has served on the Board of Directors for both the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce and as a longtime spokesperson for the Humane Society. She is also actively involved in the Opry Trust Fund which provides financial assistance to those in need in the country music industry. She is a resident of Donelson and active community member.
