Near century-old planes, that helped Wichita become the Air Capital of the World, back in town
Travel Air Manufacturing, established in 1925 in Wichita, built fewer than 2,000 planes. A century later, not many are still flying, and this event gave locals a rare chance to see them up close. The aircraft will now continue on to Wisconsin for the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual fly-in convention.

“One of my favorite things to do is take a little seven or eight-year-old kid and take him flying in it,” said Mars.
Mars added that he tells kids they have to be young at heart to be a pilot.
