New leak reveals Galaxy Watch 8 price hike and Ultra 2 costs
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z7 foldable phone series and the Galaxy Watch 8 lineup at Unpacked next month. According to a recent WinFuture report, the Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic will cost more than their predecessors. The report suggests that the mildly refreshed Galaxy Ultra model for 2025 will be just as expensive as its predecessor and cost more as the Watch8 Classic. Samsung will also unveil the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 Plus next month in New York City.
According to a recent WinFuture report, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will cost more than their predecessors. Furthermore, the report suggests that the mildly refreshed Galaxy Ultra model for 2025 will be just as expensive as its predecessor and cost more than the Watch 8 Classic.
By price, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic won’t be the top-of-the-line
Let’s start with the standard Galaxy Watch 8, which Samsung will reportedly release for a higher price. The 40mm and 44mm variants may go on sale for €40 to €50 more than the Galaxy Watch 7. For reference, the Wi-Fi Galaxy Watch 7 40mm/44mm debuted for €319 and €349.
Next up, the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will also cost €50 more than the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic did at launch in 2023. The Watch 6 Classic debuted for €419 but could cost as much as €499 in the 47mm LTE configuration. This means the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will have a starting price of €469 and cost as much as €549.

As for the Galaxy Watch Ultra re-release for 2025, oddly enough, this will be the costlier model of all three. Since it looks almost the same as the original Ultra, apart from color changes, early rumors assumed that it would be re-released for a lower price than the original 2024 Ultra.
But according to WinFuture’s sources, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, a.k.a. Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), will go on sale in Europe for the same price as the original model, or €699. This will make it more expensive than the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. Advertisement
There’s no information on whether Samsung will continue to sell the 2024 Ultra after Unpacked, but if it will, it stands to reason that it will be cheaper. However, keeping the original Ultra on store shelves would add confusion to Samsung’s smartwatch lineup, so chances are high that the 2024 Ultra will be retired next month.
