A Lewes attorney is among four new appointees to the state’s Council on Development Finance.

New members appointed by Gov. Matt Meyer include Jonathan Horner of Lewes, an at-large representative and practicing attorney; Brian Kaye of Dover; Laura Lloyd of Wilmington; and Darren Stephenson of Wilmington.

The new members join returning council members Jack Riddle of Rehoboth Beach, a Sussex County representative and banking official; Rep. Ed Osienski, D-Newark; Sen. Nicole Poore, D-New Castle; and council Chair Fred Sears of Wilmington.

“The Council on Development Finance plays a vital role in how we invest in Delaware’s future,” said Meyer in a press release. “Their decisions directly shape opportunities for businesses to grow and create good-paying jobs for Delawareans. I’m grateful to these new and returning members for stepping up to serve, and I look forward to the thoughtful guidance they’ll provide as we continue building a strong, inclusive economy across our state.”

Created by law, the council is a nine-member advisory board to the Delaware Division of Small Business tasked with making recommendations on projects and initiatives relating to economic development and strategic opportunities.

Seven council members are appointed by the governor, and one each by the Senate president pro tempore and speaker of the House of Representatives. They each serve three-year terms.
