New PS Plus ‘Badges’ Awarded to Members… With Wrong Info
Sony is displaying new personalized PS Plus “badges” for each subscriber. The badges carry the number of years one has been a member. The initiative is a part of the service’s 15th anniversary. Some players say they can’t see the badges at all, and unsurprisingly, this seems to be the case for virtually everyone. The badge is only viewable via the PS Plus section on your console.

As far as I’m aware, the badge is only viewable via the PS Plus section on your console. When you navigate to the 15th anniversary tab, you should see something like this:

The image above is a screenshot from my PS5, and according to Sony, I’ve only been a member for a year. One problem: I’ve been a PS Plus member for well over a decade at this point, and I don’t recall my membership expiring over the last few years at least.
Out of curiosity, I wandered into Reddit to see if anyone else’s “badge” is displaying incorrect number of years, and unsurprisingly, this seems to be the case for virtually everyone.
“Mine says 15 years. I didn’t even have a PS3,” wrote one member. “Mine says 1 year even though I have been a subscriber since Day 1 and have also paid for the highest tiers when they were made available,” wrote another. Some players say they can’t see the badges at all.
To be clear, I’ve never upgraded or downgraded my PS Plus membership. Following the revamp, I stuck to the Essential tier, so if we consider that a “break” in service, the badge is still incorrect.
Happy 15th, PS Plus! These badges perfectly encapsulate PSN for me. My end-of-year stats and console playtime hours have always been wildly inaccurate, too. Oh well!
