New York Giants nearly bottom out in CBS Sports’ triplet rankings
The New York Giants’ offense will have an interesting mix of new pieces and returning players coming together for the 2025 season. In ranking each team’s trio of quarterback, running back, and pass-catcher, CBS Sports had the Giants near the bottom once again, placing Big Blue at No. 27 overall. The Giants could take a step forward in this area by the end of this season, but some things would have to bounce their way.
In the fourth campaign under head coach Brian Daboll, the Giants will be trotting out Russell Wilson under center to begin the season. Meanwhile, superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers is coming off a sensational rookie season to act as the catalyst in the entire offense.
On top of that, New York will be relying on second-year running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. to lead the backfield, splitting time with rookie Cam Skattebo.

It feels like this ranking is being carried by Nabers’ incredible season and people’s memories of what Wilson used to be. When he wasn’t running hot on deep balls last season, the Steelers offense looked dreadful. Which is exactly how the Broncos offense looked during Wilson’s two years in Denver and how the Seahawks offense looked during his final season in Seattle. Nabers is so outrageously good, though, that he probably should carry the Giants to a higher ranking than they would otherwise deserve. And Tracy didn’t look so bad himself during his own debut campaign.

The Giants could take a step forward in this area by the end of the 2025 season, but some things would have to bounce their way.
Wilson would have to prove he’s better than what he showed during the second half of his season with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. Meanwhile, the offensive line needs to step up as a whole to provide more stability in Daboll’s offense.
There’s little doubt that Nabers will be able to continue his success, given what he showed during his rookie season, while Tracy should be an explosive part of a duo with another incoming rookie.
Time will tell how far the Giants’ offense will go in 2025, but the entire unit will be relying on this trio.
