July 2, 2025 NFIB’s annual Fly-In focused on the Small Business Tax Deduction and repealing beneficial ownership requirements

What it means: The annual Washington, D.C. NFIB Fly-In provides small business owners an opportunity to meet with U.S. Senators and Representatives from their state to discuss their top concerns. They urged lawmakers to make the Small Business Tax Deduction permanent and to repeal beneficial ownership reporting requirements. Our take: “This week, small business owners will have the opportunity to speak with lawmakers about the importance of the Small Business Deduction, and what it means for their employees, job growth, and our economy. As Congress continues to work on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and other significant legislation, we look forward to connecting Main Street America with policy makers to make sure small business issues remain a priority,” said NFIB President Brad Close. Every year, NFIB members attend the Washington, D.C. Fly-In for a full day of guest speaker panels and networking with other small business owners, followed by meetings with lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Eighty-one NFIB members took time away from their small businesses to advocate for making the Small Business Deduction permanent and repealing Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) requirements.

Small business owners attended 142 meetings with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for these crucial issues. Hearing directly from small business owners is the best way for lawmakers to understand how these issues impact their small business on a daily basis.
