Not long after the company announced an end to its popular Switch rewards program, Nintendo has announced that yet another program used by players to get cheaper games is coming to an end.
In a support post, Nintendo announced that it would be ending its Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers program. These vouchers sold for $100 digitally, and would allow players who were subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online to pick up two first-party full-price Nintendo Switch games, like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, essentially a discount of $20-40, depending on the game.

With the launch of the Switch 2, it was revealed that Switch 2-exclusive games and Switch 2 versions of Switch games would not be included in the Nintendo Switch Game Voucher program, a move that has been seen in hindsight as a sign that the program would be wrapping up.
Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers will still be available through the end of 2025 and into early 2026, with the program ending on January 31, 2026.
After that date, players will no longer be able to buy new Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers, but vouchers that were bought prior to that date will remain usable until their expiry date, one year after they were purchased. Nintendo Europe, Nintendo Australia, and Nintendo Co. Ltd in Japan have all said that new games released in 2026 – likely referring to upcoming games like Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream and Rhythm Heaven Groove – will be added to the list of games purchasable with vouchers, although Nintendo of America has yet to confirm the same is true for North America.
