Summit Voice & Swallowing, a speech-language pathology practice, opened last September in Reno to serve patients aged 14 and up in need of voice therapy and swallowing impairment treatments.
Located at 6630 S. McCarran Blvd., Ste. 201, the practice was co-founded by Katie Allen, PhD, CCC-SLP, and Amanda Morrissey, M.S., CCC-SLP, both of whom studied at the University of Nevada, Reno.
“We are really delighted to be able to offer our specialty care to folks in the area,” Allen said in a statement. “There is a greater need for the type of treatments that we offer than a lot of referring practices realize, and we’re just happy to work alongside our colleagues in the industry to help as many people as we can.”
According to an Aug. 27 press release, the duo offers a combined experience of 25 years of industry experience.
They treat conditions associated with movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease or ALS; neurologic disorders such as stroke; head or neck issues, such as cancer, chemo radiation, head/neck surgery, trauma, pulmonary disease or intubation; and infectious diseases such as COVID-19, sepsis and AIDS, among other treatments.
