There’s nothing surprising about national media sites singing the praises of Oregon. Our state is blessed with all sorts of beautiful scenery, including high desert landscapes, mountains, lakes, rivers, lush valleys, and more.

But even with all of our natural splendor, one coastal community just keeps turning up on lists celebrating stand-out places around the country.

Yes, we’re talking about Cannon Beach, the picturesque town that draws beachgoers wowed by Haystack Rock, fish and chips fans who happily line up at Ecola Seafoods, and overnighters who dream of splurging on a stay at Stephanie Inn.

Once again, Cannon Beach has earned a spot on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of the most beautiful towns in America.

Last year, Cannon Beach was included on the Condé Nast Traveler rundown of “The 28 Most Beautiful Towns in America.” This year, in an admirable display of consistency, Cannon Beach is on the Condé Nast Traveler list of “The 31 Most Beautiful Towns in America.”

The reasons for Cannon Beach soaking up superlatives haven’t really changed since last year’s list, so visitors are again reminded that Cannon Beach is a “rock-studded enclave located just 1.5 hours away from Portland,” with shout-outs for Haystack Rock, seafood dining, art galleries, sculpture gardens, and more.
