A black-coloured SUV, bearing a BJP flag, rammed into a police checkpoint last night on Atal Path in Patna, Bihar. Woman constable Komal succumbed to her injuries. The other two officers are undergoing treatment at a hospital. The driver of the offending Scorpio is on the run, and raids are underway to arrest him. SSP Avakash Kumar described the incident as a ‘grave offence’ and said that the culprit would be brought to justice. The video from the site of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The SUV struck Sub-Inspector (SI) Deepak Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Awadhesh, and woman constable Komal with so much force that they flung into the air and landed several meters away.

The video from the site of the incident has gone viral on social media. It opens to show several officers conducting a routine check at night. As a truck passes and another vehicle slows down for inspection, a speeding SUV suddenly crashes into another SUV.
A reporter, who was recording the video, quickly rushed to one of the injured officers and helped him get back onto his feet with the help of a bystander. Other police officers can be seen carrying injured personnel to a police vehicle. All the injured were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Constable Komal, who was a resident of Nalanda district, succumbed to her injuries. The other two officers are undergoing treatment at a hospital.
‘Grave offence, culprit to be brought to justice’
“Vehicle checking was being conducted from 10:30 PM to 12:30 AM across all districts, including Patna. During this operation, three officers were injured when a speeding Scorpio hit a car being checked at a barricade,” said SSP Avakash Kumar, who went to the crash scene to assess the situation.
He added, “Two people have been detained for questioning. The driver of the offending Scorpio is on the run, and raids are underway to arrest him. The injured officers are receiving medical care.”
SSP described the incident as a “grave offence” and said that the culprit would be brought to justice.
