Paylocity’s new HR and finance data platform, Paylocity for Finance, a platform that houses HR and finance data, will be available in August 2025.

The platform will allow users to manage payroll and non-payroll spending in the same system using data from employee records, making it easier for organizations to keep track of overall spending.

Forrester’s 2025 Human Capital Management Solutions Landscape report states that employee records are important to ensure that employee data is accessible across the enterprise because it connects systems together. Being able to access back office data systems is an important component of automating workflows via AI agents.

Paylocity for Finance expands on Paylocity’s existing HCM platform and unifies HR and finance data in a single system of record. The platform will be released in August 2025, with a mobile version for Android and iOS being released in Fall 2025.

The platform combines role-based access controls and identity verification, as well as permission customization based on user function and role, which will prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information. It also includes multiple levels of validation for payments, such as pre-payment approvals, invoice matching, and policy checks and policy checks. In addition, every transaction made in Paylocity for Finance is traceable and shows who approved and processed payments with timestamps.

“Vendor data is verified automatically against OFAC and IRS databases, and payment approvals are required even after bills are approved. Vendor account changes also require explicit approval; nothing moves without oversight,” said Melissa King, SVP of Product and Technology, Paylocity.

Having all of an organization’s financial data in a singular system allows employees easier access to information as well as visibility for overall organization spending, depending on their role. Governance and security are vital to platforms that contain sensitive data – especially financial data – and Paylocity allows for permissions customization based on role and payment validation on multiple levels.
