Former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, who were killed in what authorities are calling an assassination, were honored with a private funeral at the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis. The couple’s son, Colin Hortman, arrives with other family members before funeral services for Mark and Melissa Hort man. The funeral was held at the basilica on Saturday, June 28, 2025. The service was to be followed by a public memorial on Sunday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
