Detroit Pistons superstar guard Cade Cunningham is making the most of his offseason by trying out a new profession — acting.

The 2025 All-Star and All-NBA Third Team selection joined forces with late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel to make a commercial for a small local business “that could use an assist” in the Los Angeles area, an annual tradition on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” during the NBA Finals.

This year’s choice was Burbank, California store Battery Hut, which is a small, family-owned and employee-operated battery store that’s been open for over 30 years, according to their website.

Kicking off with Cunningham’s electronic walking dog running out of juice, the former No. 1 overall draft pick delivered some comedic lines like “I get my triple-doubles on the court, but I get my triple and double As here.”

And Cunningham capped off the ad with family that runs the store and their battery mascot “Sparky” saying “I’m positive you won’t have a negative experience.”

While the commercial is done in jest, Cunningham got the chance to do some good for a small business out in Los Angeles.

Cunningham has done plenty of charity work around Detroit and back in his hometown of Arlington, Texas since being drafted in 2021. In 2022, Cunningham established Cade’s Care Closet, an organization that provides toiletries, hygiene products, non-perishable snacks and more for students.

The Pistons just won’t want to see their star get carried away with his acting career because there’s only a few weeks until NBA Summer League begins.
