PlayStation gamers ‘worried’ about Xbox’s newly announced console
Gamers on Reddit claim Sony should be worried about the ROG XBox Ally. The ROG Xbox Ally is a handheld gaming PCs, powered by ASUS. Some believe it could be a foundation for Microsoft to win the next “console war” Sony currently has a handheld device with the PlayStation Portal, but it’s more of a streaming device than a console like the PSP or PS Vita. The PS6 will be more than $500, but not $1K, says twovles31. Nintendo and Sony will still be selling consoles for a long time, says Clicker_Reacher.
My earliest memory of a “console war” was between SEGA and Nintendo, back in the 80s and early to mid-90s. It was an odd time, with fierce tribalist fans choosing one or the other. If you chose the other, you were essentially enemy number one.
Sure, console tribalists still exist today but thankfully, things are a bit more chill nowadays. Because at the end of the day, we all love video games, regardless of our platform preference.
We’re currently five years into this generation with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and long before now, console manufacturers Sony and Microsoft will have already been planning for the next-gen.

Some could argue that Microsoft is already ahead of the curve following the recent announcement of the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X, essentially handheld gaming PCs, powered by ASUS, a rival to the Steam Deck.
Sony currently has a handheld device with the PlayStation Portal, but it’s more of a streaming device than a console like the PSP or PS Vita.
So, with Microsoft making waves in the handheld market, should Sony be worried? That’s a claim made by a gamer on Reddit.
“Why Sony should be worried about the ROG XBox Ally,” said DragonFlyPunch, kicking off the discussion on the thread.

To cut a long post short, the Reddit user believes that the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X could be a foundation for Microsoft to win the next “console war”.
“Steam Deck sold about four million units. Only the most hardcore Xbox fans are going to plop down $800 for this,” replied twovles31.
“Sony has nothing to worry about with a $900 PC handheld that’s Xbox-branded,” explained Spangler1. “I think the PS6 will be more than $500, but not $1K. Nintendo and Sony will still be selling consoles for a long time.”
“Sony consoles are the best place to play games. It’s as simple as that,” claimed Clicker_Reacher. “As for handhelds, if the rumours are true of a PlayStation handheld that lets people play digital PS5/PS4 games, it’ll remain just as competitive as ever, if not continuing to be top dog.”

In my opinion, I believe Microsoft will continue to make a huge play for the next generation, but so will Sony and Nintendo. At the end of the day, gamers will continue to eat well for many more years to come.
