The PM also launched development projects worth ₹4,800 crore in Thoothukudi, covering infrastructure and clean energy, and paid homage to soldiers on Kargil Vijay Diwas.

A tragic stampede at Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar left six dead and many injured. The chaos was reportedly triggered by rumors of an electric current near the temple stairs. Authorities are investigating the incident and have promised compensation to affected families.

In a shocking misuse of Maharashtra’s welfare scheme meant for women, over 14,000 men fraudulently enrolled and claimed ₹1,500 monthly benefits. The scam cost the state ₹21.44 crore. Payments to ineligible beneficiaries have been halted, and stricter verification measures are under review.
