Pokémon Trainers, Prepare To Return To Paldea Tomorrow

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will introduce the Shiny versions of the Treasures of Ruin Legendary creatures. You will be able to obtain these Shiny Legendaries by engaging in Tera Raid battles. Collectively, players will have to meet or exceed one million victories for each Legendary to unlock the respective free Shiny Treasure of Ruin in the game. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s handling of its Legendaries was truly incredible, and I sincerely hope that the Gen 10 Pokémon games copy its formula. This will likely be the most I’ve played ofScarlet and Violet after nearly two years, when I essentially put the Gen 9 games aside. The Gen 9 titles are about to get an expansion with the upcoming release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which will be set in Lumiose City.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will receive an update that will prompt many Trainers to return to Paldea for the upcoming month, as you will get a chance to get a rare bundle of rewards. Even though they were released nearly three years ago, the Generation 9 titles are still receiving updates, especially when it comes to content. You can tackle various Tera Raid events and Outbreaks, for example. However, Nintendo has also been making an investment into quality, such as the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet FPS update for Switch 2.

This patch makes the games run smoother than ever before, which is appreciated, considering how problematic the titles are on the original version of Switch. Gen 9 is about to get an expansion with the upcoming release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which will be set in Lumiose City, and after that, it’s expected that the core series will move onto the highly anticipated release of Pokémon’s Gen 10 games, perhaps in a year or two.

These Gen 9 Legendaries Were Previously Shiny Locked

For now, however, you should consider revisiting Paldea in Gen 9, as there are special events coming. Announced by Nintendo during the Pokémon Presents event on the official Pokémon channel on Twitch, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will introduce the Shiny versions of the Treasures of Ruin Legendary creatures. You will be able to obtain these Shiny Legendaries, which were originally Shiny locked in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, by engaging in Tera Raid battles.

To obtain the Shiny versions of Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu, you will have to play through their respective Tera Raid events starting on July 23 through September 14 (each Pokémon will be available in Tera Raids for two weeks). Furthermore, simply defeating the Treasures of Ruin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet won’t be enough. Collectively, players will have to meet or exceed one million victories in the Tera Raid battles for each of the Legendaries.

Shiny Legendary Tera Raid Events Will Keep Me Entertained For Hours, After Nearly Two Years

It’s Unclear If Shiny Treasures Of Ruin Will Be Made Available Again Any Time Soon

Close

Seeing that, collectively, the community has to ensure one million victories for each Legendary so as to unlock the respective free Shiny Treasures of Ruin in the game, I’ll be investing some time into the Tera Raids. This will likely be the most I’ve played of Scarlet and Violet after nearly two years, when I essentially put the Gen 9 games aside.

The table below specifies the period for each Treasures of Ruin Tera Raid event in the Gen 9 games:

Pokémon S&V – Shiny Treasures Of Ruin Tera Raid Schedule Pokémon Period Wo-Chien July 23 – August 3 Chien-Pao August 4 – August 17 Ting-Lu August 18 – August 31 Chi-Yu September 1 – September 14

Shiny Legendaries can be tough to unlock, and I deeply regret missing the Shiny Zeraora Max Raid Battle event in Pokémon Sword and Shield. With the upcoming event, I won’t let history repeat itself and make sure I obtain the Shiny versions of the Treasures of Ruin, as I don’t know when they’ll be made available again, be it in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet or not.
