Some might assume that rich and famous people would only want to hang out with other rich and famous people in fancy-schmancy steakhouses or glamourous members-only bars. But as it turns out, at least some stars can be found in edgy dive bars and neighborhood restaurants in Phoenix.
Locals know and love places like Gracie’s Tax Bar and Valentine, but how do musicians and actors who aren’t from the Valley know that those are the hippest places to be? Whoever they’re getting recommendations from know their stuff.
Here’s a look at four celebrities spotted at local Phoenix restaurants and bars in 2025.
Post Malone at Gracie’s Tax Bar
Post Malone visited Gracie’s Tax Bar after playing a show at State Farm Stadium on Saturday, June 21. He arrived at the bar sometime after 1 a.m. and stayed until close. Owner Grace Perry told The Republic that the musician left “a very gracious tip” which was split evenly amongst all the staff.

Elijah Wood at Valentine
Actor Elijah Wood visited Valentine restaurant in Phoenix in March.
According to the restaurant, Wood ate with a group and collectively they ordered the taco trio, a churro waffle, the little gem salad with smoked trout, a tamale bowl, a guava Danish and strawberry cream concha, courtesy of the restaurant’s multiple-time James Beard Award nominated pastry chef Crystal Kass. To drink, the group ordered a Bloody Bull, lassi, golden milk latte and Americano.
Wood returned to the Valley in June when he participated in a panel at Phoenix Fan Fusion alongside other “Lord of the Rings” costars.

Gordon Ramsay at Caffe Boa and Mrs. White’s Golden Rule Cafe
British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay filmed two episodes of his new show “Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service” in Phoenix in February: one at Mrs. White’s Golden Rule Cafe in Phoenix and one at Caffe Boa in Ahwatukee.
The show follows Ramsay as he goes undercover at various struggling restaurants and attempts to “save” them by way of renovations to the building and menu as well as addressing conflicts within the staff.
Kianna White told The Republic that watching her grandmother’s restaurant on Ramsay’s show was “an emotional rollercoaster.” She teared up when Ramsay talked about her grandmother’s legacy. She said she was reminded of why Mrs. White’s matters so much to her.
The Caffe Boa episode resulted in some confusion from fans of the show who left Google reviews on the wrong restaurant location after watching the episode, which focused on the Ahwatukee restaurant.
All episodes of “Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service,” including the two shot in Arizona, are available to stream for free on Fox’s website and are available on Hulu.

On “Triple D Nation” Fieri revisits restaurants previously featured on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” to check in on the business owners and see how they are doing.
“He (Fieri) does so much for local businesses,” Shapiro told The Republic. “I know he takes pride in putting spots that he finds really good on the map. And he could be picking from thousands of new restaurants that are awesome, but he comes back to show us some love, because he loves our food. It’s pretty cool.”
