Police investigate overnight stabbing in Aliquippa
Police say that, during a fight between two men, one of them stabbed the other with a knife. William Earl Little, 56, was arrested, with charges pending for aggravated assault.
Per Pennsylvania State Police, the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa.

A local community is mourning the loss of a promising athlete. A high school senior was killed when a tree fell onto her car. The 18-year-old student athlete was a standout softball player for the high school.
Kennedy Columbus, a 12th grader, was killed on Lake Shore Road in Chazy, New York earlier this week. She was driving her Ford Bronco on Lake Shore Road when a tree fell and hit her.
She was pronounced dead on the scene.
“This is an unimaginable loss, and our entire school community is grieving. We ask that you speak openly and compassionately with your children this evening. A loss like this can be overwhelming, and no one should face it alone. Our hearts are with Kennedy’s family and all who knew and loved her. We will share more information in the coming days,” a spokesperson for the school said in part.

“Her energy, her kindness, and her love for the game of softball were just small pieces of what made her so special. Whether on the mound striking out batters or in the classroom brightening someone’s day, Kennedy left a mark that will never fade,” her obituary read.
It added: “Kennedy was a star athlete, a beloved friend, and a soon-to-be graduate. She was best known as a standout pitcher on the Chazy Eagles softball team, earning recognition for her skill, determination, and leadership on and off the field.”

Earlier this week, a tragic accident in Central African Republic’s capital city left several families mourning the loss of their children.
While roughly 5,000 students were taking exams at Barthelemy Boganda High School, a transformer near the premises malfunctioned and exploded. The sound of the explosion sparked a stampede inside the school.

“The building shook and we were all terrified. It was everyone man for himself,” a student told the Associated Press.
According to the country’s Ministry of National Education, at least 29 students were killed during this stampede. Another 260 students suffered injuries.
“I offer our sincere condolences to the parents of the affected candidates and wish a speedy recovery to the injured candidates,” Education Minister Aurelien-Simplice Kongbelet-Zimgas said.

Countless people have offered their prayers to the families impacted by this tragedy.
“That’s a tragedy, love. Exams are bad enough without chaos like that—hope those poor kids get proper help,” one person said.

“Man this is so sad to hear,” another person commented. “Praying for the families.”
“Thoughts and prayers. I feel for the families,” a third person wrote.
The president of the school’s parents’ association has called for an investigation, claiming a lack of maintenance led to the explosion. Well, their wish was granted by the Education Ministry.
It’s unclear when the cause of the explosion will be revealed.
Central African Republic President Faustin-Archange Touadéra has already determined that every student injured in the stampede will receive free medical care.

A former Ohio State Buckeyes All-American football player was reportedly involved in a fatal car accident in Dublin, Ohio on Saturday morning. The crash reportedly took place at roughly 3 a.m. E.T. on Saturday.

Barton, 40, of Lewis Center, is suspected of driving a Ford F150 Raptor pickup truck “at a high rate of speed” eastbound on U.S. 33 before entering Historic Dublin just before 3 a.m. He then struck a Lexus on West Bridge Street, just west of Franklin Street, according to the City of Dublin. The driver of the Lexus, 24-year-old Ethan Perry, was pronounced dead at the scene. Barton sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was later released from a local hospital into police custody.
