ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – The Professional Women’s Network of Central Louisiana (PWN Cenla) installed its new executive board during an August 11 meeting at Brocato’s in Alexandria.

Celeste Mobley, a Pineville legend and outgoing president, has led the group for six years. She said PWN Cenla is about more than just business; it helps women grow both personally and professionally.

“It’s not just a girls’ group. It’s a sincere women’s organization, civically, responsibly and socially,” Mobley said. “These women keep me grounded and humble. I’ve had the best executive board, and without them, I would have been nobody.”

Mobley officially passed the leadership torch to the new president, Madeleine Westberry, who said she is honored to take on the role and wants to build on the group’s strong legacy.

“This is an important group because it’s the foundation of what a power connection is,” Westberry said. “To be in a network with these types of women, it’s an awesome thing.”

PWN Cenla meets every second Monday of the month. Membership costs $75 a year, with the term running from September 1 through August 31. Each meeting includes a guest speaker who shares professional advice and resources.

At the meeting, small business owners Karen Collins and Bridget Vaughn spoke about running a business without big corporate backing. Vaughn said she hopes to inspire other women to chase their dreams.

“The sky’s the limit,” Vaughn said. “We want them to be successful and know they can do anything they put their minds to; they just need passion and drive.”

Mobley encouraged women to join the group.

“We just support everybody’s growth in whatever area they are in their life,” she said.
