CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville Public Works is alerting the public about a week early about construction work associated around the new Ivy Road high-rise that will affect travel lands next weekend. The city advises permitted construction work will occur within the westbound lanes of Ivy Road west of Copeley Road between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, July 18 and Sunday, July 20. Of course, this work is weather-pemitting. Public Works said to expect the temporary deactivation of the traffic signal, lane closures, and flagging operations through the intersection. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and to use caution if you must drive in the area.
