RAVE to plein-air painters, particularly the large watercolor group that paints around Seattle (every Wednesday morning) from May through October. These friendly artists set up their easels in parks and gardens, as well as industrial and port sites. I cheer up whenever I see them, behatted against the sun or sheltered from the rain, they paint the morning away. What a beautiful and inspiring tribute to our city in all its sunny glory and moist decay.

RANT to my neighbors with out-of-state plates on their cars, the high license tab fees that discourage registrations and the city for leaving tons of money on the table. You have enforcement officers; you can encourage those car owners to register their cars here.

RAVE and a huge thanks to the person who found my driver’s license (inadvertently dropped while I was cycling) at the East Portal overlook on Lake Washington Boulevard South, and mailed it back to me.
