RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) -Monday, Rapid City Mayor Jason Salamun announced the location for the new sports complex in North Rapid.

“We have been working very hard on this since I’ve been mayor and even well before that,” Salamun said.

The sports complex will include an indoor turf soccer field, eight basketball courts that can transform into volleyball and pickleball courts.

“It needs to be convertible to meet the needs of the community, and so all sports are on the table,” says Domico Rodriguez, Rapid City sports commission.

Salamun also noted that this will be a great benefit for the youth in Rapid City and will attract people from all over the region. He will ask the Rapid City Council to dedicate $5 million in unused Vision Fund resources to go towards the complex.
