Genoa interested in Lille’s Alan Virginius
Alan Virginius is expected to leave Lille OSC this summer. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Young Boys. The Swiss side have expressed a desire to enter into discussions over a permanent transfer. Serie A side Genoa are also interested with Patrick Vieira a fan.
Virginius, who has made one appearance for the France U21s, has struggled to break through at Lille since making the move from Sochaux back in 2022. However, he got his career back on track during a loan spell at Swiss side Young Boys last season, scoring seven goals and registering four assists in 45 appearances in all competitions.
Despite that return to form, he will not be retained by LOSC. He may, however, be retained by Young Boys, as per L’Équipe. The Swiss side have expressed a desire to enter into discussions over a permanent transfer.
However, they are not the only interested party. Serie A side Genoa are also interested with Patrick Vieira a particular fan of the French winger, whose contract at Lille runs until 2027.

Rennes sporting director ‘anticipates’ Arnaud Kalimuendo departure
Stade Rennais sporting director Loïc Désiré has revealed that the club are expecting Arnaud Kalimuendo to leave the club this summer. The France youth international is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur, who next season will play in the UEFA Champions League.
In his first press conference since trading RC Strasbourg Alsace for Rennes, Désiré revealed the Breton club’s intentions in the current transfer window. One of his main priorities is bringing down the size of the squad. Currently, there are around 40 players under contract. He wants to bring that number down to between 22-24.
There are expendables that Les Rennais are trying to get off their books, such as Birmingham City target Kyogo Furuhashi, however, some key players could also leave, such as Kalimuendo. As reported by L’Équipe earlier this month, the France youth international is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur, who next season will play in the UEFA Champions League.
“In this sector (up front), we are anticipating Kalimuendo’s eventual departure,” said Désiré. Whilst there are not yet any offers on the table for the striker, that is not expected to remain the case for long.
