The Olympic bronze medallist outpointed Dmitri Protkunas over six rounds on the undercard of Fabio Wardley’s heavyweight clash with Justis Huni at Portman Road on Saturday.
It was his first contest since losing to Marco Verde in the Olympic semi-finals in Paris last August.
“I’m happy with how the performance went, but also the whole event,” the 28-year-old middleweight from Colchester told BBC Essex.
“It was a fantastic occasion, the ring walk in particular was really special for me. My name got announced, I could hear the crowd and feel the energy – I knew I’d done well on tickets but it felt like the whole stadium got behind me.”
