Roadtrippin’ 2025: Fun for all, the Alaska Railroad’s travel opportunities for tourists and Alaskans alike
The Alaska Railroad offers a variety of summer travel options. Travelers can tailor their experiences to what they want to do. The railroad offers tours that can be as short as a day trip or as long as seven to 10 days long. Details about the railroad’s summer special offers can be found here. Robin Moore, Marketing and Communications Manager for the Alaska Railroad, said their selection of trips can be as short as a day trip, or stretch toward seven to 10 days long.
In what Moore calls a “package trip,” guests can make changes to their stop; meaning on a trip from Anchorage to Fairbanks, it’s possible to get off in Denali for several days before continuing on into Interior Alaska.
Along with adjustable itineraries for their stops, Moore said excursions are another layer of options travelers have for customizing their trips.
“We like to say that we can tailor all of these experiences to what you’re looking for,” Moore said.
″Do you want to go sightseeing? Do you want to go on a boat and wildlife cruise? Do you want to go kayaking? Do you want to go hiking? We can help you plan all those so we are a one-stop shop for all of your planning needs to make your last of summer very adventuresome and very fun.”
According to Moore, the customization of their tours is what contributes to their broad appeal — she believes Alaskans who might not be interested in the same activities that tourists might be drawn to can still plan a trip that brings special experiences into their summer travel.
