Over the past few months, a lot of internal One UI 8 firmware builds were leaked for multiple Galaxy phones, giving us an extremely early look at what Samsung is cooking in terms of software. However, you should get ready to say goodbye to those leaked firmware files.

Get ready to say goodbye to early One UI 8.5 and One UI 9.0 leaks

A few months ago, a developer found a way to locate and download under-development One UI firmware files that were meant for Samsung’s internal testing. And that is how we brought you an early look at One UI 8.0 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, we can now confirm that Samsung has fixed the loophole that allowed anyone to access the company’s internal test server used to seed software updates for Galaxy phones, tablets, and smartwatches.

So, unless some other loophole is found in Samsung’s servers, internal One UI firmware files can’t be accessed anymore. This means that early builds of One UI 8.5, which will likely debut with the Galaxy S26 series, can’t be downloaded. And we won’t get to see new software features that the South Korean firm is developing for its existing and upcoming mobile devices.

You can still download publicly released firmware files, though, which means if you have a Galaxy phone or tablet, you can continue to download the latest firmware files for it.

Samsung will still give people access to beta versions of One UI, letting them see and use new software features before they are released as stable updates for compatible Galaxy devices. Before the launch of the Galaxy S26 early next year, the company will likely open the One UI 8.5 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25 series.
