San Diego business owners preparing for busy Fourth of July holiday week
The holiday that commemorates the United States’ ratification of the Declaration of Independence is also a day when friends and families gather to spend time with each other. The travel and activities associated with the holiday often boost businesses’ bottom line due to the increased spending by some people. The San Diego Tourism authority is working to boost tourism throughout the year in San Diego County. The Tourism Authority is looking toward building upon connections with other cities ahead of events like the World Cup and the 2028 Olympics.

Business owners often prepare for the day and think about how the holiday helps their business.
“We definitely see a ramp up period right now. This is the season leading up to the Fourth of July when we see more and more tourists coming in more and more bookings just more walking traffic people from just getting their sodas to getting their full family set up for all the fun stuff,” Mission Beach Rentals, Owner, Matthew Gardner said.

Families in town are planning their activities for the holiday week.
“We went to the zoo yesterday, that zoo is like the best zoo there is so we had to go there again. We might go to Sea World and even though we went to all of those spots when we grew up here those are the spots to go to,” Cindy Graham said.
The Graham family said they’re happy that the money they spend in San Diego is contributing to the local economy.
“We probably spend anywhere up to $2,000 on a visit. We like to stay in nicer rooms and take in all the sights, enjoy the local eateries and stuff to do here and it’s well worth the experience,” J.B. Graham said.
The San Diego Tourism authority is working to boost tourism throughout the year in San Diego County.
The Tourism Authority is looking toward building upon connections with other cities ahead of events like the World Cup and the 2028 Olympics in the hopes of attracting tourists who go to those events to come to San Diego as well.
