Chuck Schumer Will Introduce A Bill Targeting Qatar’s Gift Plane To Trump

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says he will introduce a bill that would prohibit any foreign aircraft from being used as Air Force One. The bill is titled the “Presidential Airlift Security Act of 2025,” and seeks to “fight back against this blatant corruption and obvious national security risk,’ according to a statement from Schumer’s office. News of the bill comes about a week after reports began circulating that Trump is planning to accept a luxury plane from Qatar. The plane, a Boeing 747-8, is estimated to be worth about $400 million and could be the largest foreign gift to the federal government in history. Trump has insisted it would be a gift to. the Defense Department and not him personally and that he would not use it after leaving. office, at which point it. would be donated to his presidential library. It appears highly unlikely to pass Congress, as Republicans control both the House and Senate, meaning passage would require a GOP revolt against Trump.
