Jeff Bezos arrives for $20m wedding to Lauren Sanchez as Oprah and Ivanka Trump lead glamorous guests: Live updates
The wedding of Donald Trump and Gwyneth Paltrow is set to take place this weekend. The ceremony will take place at the White House in Washington, D.C. It will be the first time in the history of the United States that a wedding has been held there. The wedding will be followed by a reception at a hotel in Washington DC. The reception will be held in the hotel’s ballroom, which will be open to the public.
He emerged from his hotel about an hour after Sanchez made her first appearance of the day as the pair prepare to celebrate in front of a dazzling array of star-studded guests.
Sanchez was pictured leaving the five star Aman hotel before making her way to San Giorgio Maggiore island where she will exchange vows with the billionaire tech mogul.
Guests arriving at the luxurious affair were greeted to the sounds of trumpets, violins and a Gospel Choir.
Some of the A-List stars attending the wedding have started arriving too. Oprah Winfrey, Ivanka Trump and Usher are among stars who’ve traveled to the private island by water to watch the romantic nuptials take place.
Described as the ‘wedding of a century’, the 61-year-old Amazon founder and one of the world’s richest men and his bride-to-be, 55, have welcomed nearly 200 VIPs to Venice for three days of lavish celebrations.
Last night it was revealed Bezos and Sanchez have already married legally ahead of today’s ceremony on San Giorgio Maggiore island. It came as guests including Kylie Jenner were forced to take cover from a freak thunderstorm during the couple’s pre-wedding party inside the historic Madonna dell’Orto cloisters.
A-listers Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey and Orlando Bloom jetted in to Italy earlier this week for the nuptials which come two years after Bezos asked Sanchez to marry him on his $500 million superyacht.
But preparations for the couple’s big day have been far from plain sailing with protesters planning to disrupt the celebrations, even forcing a late venue change.

The couple are expected to wed on Friday, with a welcome event reportedly taking place this evening and a dinner being hosted on Saturday.
The Amazon founder and former journalist arrived at the opulent Aman Hotel on Wednesday via helicopter after sailing into the Venice lagoon on board Bezos’s $500 million mega yacht, Koru, which is rumored to play a large role in the wedding.

Other notable names expected to attend are Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, and entertainment mogul Barry Diller. CBS News reports that at least 95 private planes requested landing permission at Venice’s Marco Polo Airport for the long weekend.
Meanwhile, about a dozen local organizations—including housing advocates, anti-cruise ship campaigners, and university groups—have united under the banner “No Space for Bezos.”
They say that their city is being treated as a billionaire’s playground and highlights wealth inequity. Their small-scale demonstrations have included hanging protest banners on iconic landmarks, and a Bezos dummy was floated down the Grand Canal in an Amazon box clutching cash.
