Community leaders, alumni, and donors came together to celebrate girls in sports and put that sentiment into action. Seton High School, in partnership with Delhi Township and donors from across the region, officially broke ground on a new $16 million sports complex. The new complex will feature a multi-sport turf field, tennis and pickleball courts, batting cages, a weight room, and even a broadcast journalism studio. President and alum Kathy Allen Ciarla says this is the very first all-girls sports complex in the region.Construction is expected to continue through the next year, with the complex expected to be open by August 2026. “We want to be good neighbors, and I want girls, young grade school and select teams, to come here,” said president and alum Kathleen Allen, who’s been working on this concept for six years. “It’s the girls’ time,” she said. “You feel women’s sports have arrived,” said President and alumnus Kathy Allen.

A first-of-its-kind facility is coming to the west side.Community leaders, alumni, and donors came together to celebrate girls in sports and put that sentiment into action. Just down the road from Seton High School in Delhi Township sits the 11 acre facility.President and alum Kathy Allen Ciarla says this is the very first all-girls sports complex in the region.She’s been working on this concept for six years. “It’s the girls’ time.”Seton High School, in partnership with Delhi Township and donors from across the region, officially broke ground Tuesday on a new $16 million sports complex.”We feel it with Caitlin Clark and the women’s soccer team and everything else,” Ciarla said. “You feel women’s sports have arrived.”The new complex will feature a multi-sport turf field, tennis and pickleball courts, batting cages, a weight room, and even a broadcast journalism studio.Seton senior Lydia Johnson plays three sports including flag football, which was started just two years ago at the school.”It’s a really cool opportunity for girls to have,” Johnson said. “Growing up, you never imagined playing football. And we actually got to play at the Bengals stadium, which was really, really cool.”After making it to state last year, she hopes that having a field of their own will boost the team’s chances at a title and build confidence.”It’s so empowering that we have this opportunity as females to be able to play at our own home field,” Johnson said. “And it’s just very empowering to see that women are taking the charge to be able to build this field.”Allen Ciarla said the vision is rooted in community.”We foresee pickleball leagues, tennis leagues, people walking the track,” she said. “We want to be good neighbors, and I want young girls, grade school and select teams, to come here.”Construction is expected to continue through next year.
